Frequently asked questions
Do you support Gnosis Safe?
Yes — natively. Treasury splits, royalty splits, and admin authority can all route to Safe addresses, and we support Safe as a co-signer or sole authorizer on mint and tier-expansion actions. Safe is your treasury; we don't custody or co-sign.
Can membership NFTs be transferable, or do they have to be soulbound?
Your call, per tier. Many communities want soulbound member and contributor tokens (so identity can't be sold) and transferable collectible drops in the same project. RAPIT supports both modes on the same contract family.
How do tier upgrades work? Is it a new mint or an upgrade in place?
Upgrades happen in place. A holder's existing token gets its tier metadata updated by an authorized caller — typically the multi-sig or a governance module. Holders keep their token ID and history; downstream integrations (Snapshot, Discord) pick up the new tier on the next sync.
Can a member rage-quit and burn their membership?
Yes. We support holder-initiated burn for memberships where you want it, and admin-initiated revoke for cases where governance needs to remove someone (with a clear on-chain trail). Both paths are configurable per tier.
Do members need ETH to claim a membership NFT?
No. We support gasless claims via meta-transactions, with the gas paid by the community treasury or a sponsoring relayer. New members can join from an email invite without ever holding ETH first.
How does voting weight work with Snapshot?
Tier-aware membership tokens map directly to Snapshot voting strategies (standard ERC-721/1155 balance checks, or per-tier weighted strategies). When a tier changes, the weight changes on the next proposal — no manual sync.
What happens if a member loses access to their wallet?
For non-soulbound tokens, the holder can move them to a recovered wallet themselves. For soulbound memberships, the multi-sig (or whoever holds the admin role) can re-issue the membership to a new address with the same tier and history attribution. We don't custody the keys, so we can't recover wallets — but we make the re-issue path clean.
What if we decide to migrate off RAPIT later? Do we keep our data?
Yes. The contracts are deployed to your community's control, the membership and contribution NFTs are on-chain, and the metadata is yours. You can self-host metadata, point to your own subgraph, or run RAPIT-deployed contracts indefinitely without us. We don't hold your community hostage.
